The Pan African University (PAU) is the culmination of continental initiatives of the Commission of the African Union to revitalize higher education and research in Africa, under the Second Decade of Education for Africa and the consolidated Plan of Action of Science and Technology for Africa. It will exemplify excellence, enhance the attractiveness and global competitiveness of African higher education and research and establish the African University at the core of Africa's development.

Rector’s Message: PAUSTI Graduation ceremony
It is with great joy and pride that we celebrate the sixth graduation ceremony of the Pan African University Institute for Basic Sciences, Technology and Innovation (PAUSTI).
As a PAUSTI graduate you have demonstrated the commitment, creativity and talent you need to succeed in your chosen career.
Graduation is a significant step in your education cycle and the entire Pan African University (PAU) fraternity wishes you the very best on this important occasion. Over the course of your program, you have developed lifelong and valuable friendships and networks.
You have also become a valued member of our vibrant PAU community. I urge you to continue your relationship with PAU to which you have dedicated so much time, hard work and energy.
As a truly international research institution, the Pan African University has a wide network of key partners such as The African Union, The African Development Bank, the Government of Kenya and the Government of Japan who facilitates flow of top students and eminent scholars into its programmes.
The arising environment has enabled the students to engage in top notch research with innovation outputs and quality publications. Graduands, be proud of what you have worked to achieve and remember those who have supported you to reach this end. You are our champions! I wish you every success as you mark your graduation.

RECTORATE
The Rectorate is responsible for the daily management of the PAU and is headed by the Rector who is the Chief Executive Officer of the PAU.
At the Malabo Summit held in June 2015, African Heads of State and Government adopted Decision EX.CL/Dec.829 to host the Rectorate of the Panafrican University. Following this decision, a high level panel was set up by Decision EX.CL/Dec.829 (XXV) to designate the country that will host the PAU Rectorate. Considering the report by this panel, the Executive Council selected Cameroon as host country and recommended the designation of Cameroon by the Ordinary session of the African Union Assembly who endorsed the selection in January 2016.
