Preamble
The Pan African University Institute for Governance, Humanities and Social Sciences (PAUGHSS), is one of the five hubs of the Pan African University which was inaugurated on 14th December 2011 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and is located at Yaounde, Cameroun.

Short-Term Positions
To complement our faculty, we are seeking to fill short-term positions at the level of Senior lecturer and above to participate in teaching and supervision of research in the following Masters and PhD Programs

Required Qualifications and Experience
Mandatory requirements for all short-term positions:
• Candidates must be senior lecturer and above at a recognized University with a minimum 5 years’ experience at an institution of higher education in the relevant thematic field;  
• Excellent English/French language proficiency. Bilingual proficiency will be advantageous  

Remuneration of Short-Term Lecturers
Courses are paid as per contact hours, at a rate of 80 USD per hour.

Additionally, visa costs, travel and subsistence allowances will be covered according to existing PAUGHSS guidelines.

Starting Date and Duration of Contracts Appointment:
During the First semester of the academic year 2021 Duration of short-term positions: Sixteen (16) weeks depending on workload (credits) allocated. The semester runs from the beginning of February 2021. During the Second semester, beginning July 2021

RECTORATE

The Rectorate is responsible for the daily management of the PAU and is headed by the Rector who is the Chief Executive Officer of the PAU.

At the Malabo Summit held in June 2015, African Heads of State and Government adopted Decision EX.CL/Dec.829 to host the Rectorate of the Panafrican University. Following this decision, a high level panel was set up by Decision EX.CL/Dec.829  (XXV) to designate the country that will host the PAU Rectorate. Considering the report by this panel, the Executive Council selected Cameroon as host country and recommended the designation of Cameroon by the Ordinary session of the African Union Assembly who endorsed the selection in January 2016.
